I read this book several years ago, so I don't remember many specifics, other than it is a collection of short stories about Vietnamese immigrants in Louisiana. I also remember thinking each one was a gem. Since I recently reread Interpreter of Maladies, which concerns itself with immigrants from India, I would like to reread this collection and see how it compares.

This book contains a great compilation of stories about a subject that is not frequently tackled in today's mainstream lit. Butler has taken on the various personas in his stories effectively. My favorites are "Love" and "Mr. Green".
