I found this title to be a complete waste of time. I'm surprised I managed to finish it. So here goes.

    The Plot:

...was a boring rehash of the damsel in distress who cannot withstand the evil on her own anymore. Enter the hero, who is intended to work against her, but instead he falls in love with her...all in the old West. The mental image that comes to my mind is the dastardly, mustached villain dressed in black who ties up the tiny, whimpering girl-woman & puts her on the railroad track while the hero arrives on horseback just as the train bears down. Seriously cliche, but without villains in black or a railroad track. There is a hero on horseback, tho.

    The Characters:

...were unremarkable. There's was no difference b/t any of them. There were several times I couldn't even tell who was speaking b/c they all sounded exactly alike. The author tried to offer insight & distinguishing characteristics, but the things they said, did, & thought completely bucked any definition the author tried to give. All of the characters had exactly the same voice. And the voice was boring. Elisa, the only female in the whole book & supposedly the sole driving force behind her ranch, was unimpressive at best. She was supposedly strong & intelligent & determinedly stubborn, but everything she did, said, or thought contradicted what the author said she was. I wanted to smack Elisa.

    The Dialogue:

...literally made me laugh at points b/c it was so asinine. I actually read portions to my husband. My favorite was one of the boys at a bar telling the bartender, "I needed to wet my whistle and have myself some good booze." That made me lol...really.

    The Sex:

...didn't make sense to me. At least the motivation behind it. I thought it was a bit boring, too.

    Overall:

...it was obvious the author cared about the book & put effort into it. It's too long for her to have just slapped it together, despite the evidence to the contrary. She managed to tie up all the loose ends, so there's that, I suppose. I would never read this book again, though. I wouldn't pay money for any book in the series (got this one for free).

    Quite simply, I didn't like it...at all.

Okay storyline, but erotica just doesn't really interest me...it interferes with my reading!!

A man by the name of Samuel O'Shea hires them to get the Taggert family off his land. When Nate meets the feisty Miss Elisa Taggert she tells him they aren't going anywhere. And she proceeds to get the best of Nate and his friends.
This book has alot of humor in it. Although it does start out slow. Keep up with it because the story is great.

This story was hilarious. Poor Nate and what he went through falling in love with Elisa. I love reading Beth's cowboys. I so can't wait for the next Devil.
