Felt no connection to any of these characters and the plot was a snoozer but I read to the last page so two stars vs 1.”

Amazing story of a boy who achieved antigravity.”
“Some of his lighter work. Nice story.”

The story of Walt the Wonder Boy is the story of America itself; Walt was poor, learned to thrive with the help of immigrants and not-quite-citizens, suffered many disasters along the way and then, well, I won't ruin the rest for you. What you will find is a book that delivers on every sense. Auster, ever the master of language, creates passages which make you taste, smell and see the America of Walt the Wonder Boy. A definite read.”

Auster seems to have the knack of telling someone's story in a way which keeps the reader engaged and this narrator's ambiguous relatoinship with ethics lends an element of realism to the story without being depressing.
All in all, a nice light, quick enjoyable read.”
