This is the complete authorized version of Gibran's A Tear and a Smile. It does include four reproductions of his drawings which are very moving. Gibran's work has been loved around the world for fifty years now. His prose, essays, poetry have stood the test of time. " His power came from some great reservoir of spiritual life else it could not have been so universal and so potent, but the majesty and beauty of the language with which he clothed it were all his own." ---Claude Bragdon

I originally read this when I was in my early teens and was struck by the depth of emotion contained in Gibran's poetry. A Tear and a Smile has stayed with me all my life and has taken on more personal significance over the years. It is delightful and painful at the same time.
