“In the beginning, I was thrown off by the sudden switch in stories. I wondered if the book was really an anthology of short stories instead, but as I read on, and the book veered between just two stories, I found myself becoming more curious about how it all linked up, and then I hit the ending.

It was beautiful, and entirely unexpected. Murakami is a master at surreal storytelling- he makes the ugly beautiful and interesting in its own way, drawing the ordinary into something extraordinary. ”
