When he wakes up he is sad because he missed the party. The rhyme and rhythm of this book make it very fun to read aloud, and the predictable text engages children in the reading.”

“This book was a nightly favorite of my son's for quite a while. He's moved on to others as nightly favorites now, but I still try to get him to let me read this one as much as possible. I wrote a paper on this book for one of my graduate courses in teaching writing. The paper covered the author's use of repetitive language and words aimed at sensory stimulation for beginning readers. Plus, it's just a neat story!”

“Fun and warm illustrations. While bear hibernates, animals show up and have a party, and bear snores on. Cute story and not too much text. Great for a toddler.”
