Jess Oliver Aarons Jr. was squashed in the middle of a family of sisters, his mom, and his dad. Ever day his father went all the way to Wahington for his job, and he came back late every day, too tired to speak. All summer Jess had been getting up early in the morning to practice running. He told himself if he did, he would be the fastest runner in fifth grade! But all that changed when the Burkes' moved into the old Perkin's place. Leslie Burke was an amazing student, always doing her best, but never showing off. All the girls would be jealous---in fact, everyone was jealous and thought that she was strangely intelligent. Every day she would be praised by her teacher, Ms.Myers. On the first day of school she bravely marched onto the field...where the boys were racing. Jess got mad that he was beat by a girl, but he later changed his mind about Leslie when they became best friends. Leslie and Jess created their own sacred world---Teribithia. There they could do whatever they pleased, with no school bullies to destroy their fun. Leslie was a great queen for her kingdom, her words were queenly and royal and exquisite. But Jess's words were plain and normal, and he always tries to use words as beautifully like Leslie. Now,if I say any more I would probably spoil the wre you waiting Okay. Now, what are you waiting Okay. Now, what are you waiting for? Go over to that library and check out Bridge to Teribithia by Katherine Paterson!!!
