“A dark, sordid romp through the underbelly of Florida with the best hard-boiled detective since Philip Marlowe. While Travis McGee isn't strictly a detective, he is the man who walks down the mean streets while not himself mean. The story is good, the villain is loathsome and the writing is smart. ”
