“Totally loved it. What an engaging voice Eugenides has in this novel. I did find that the bookends story (Cal in present time) interfered with my reading of the "past" story a bit. I kept wanting to stay in the past and discover how Callie became Cal. Yet I also see the need for the "bookend" portions of the plot, because the curiosity as to how Cal's life will turn out is also huge.”
