Beautiful story which is the basis for the movie "Heaven and Earth" from Oliver Stone. While the movie, I feel, captures her awe and wonder a little better, the book is better overall. The book captures le ly's journey from viet kong soldier to american housewife to businesswoman and beyond. Le ly goes through many changes. She grows as a person, and in reading this book, you feel as though you are growing along with her. Simply beautiful.
