Vampire Knight is a shoujo (love affairs) but in this manga there is actually violence! Probably because it's about human's and vampire's co-existing. There is a school where they are trying to have humans and vampires together but they have a day class and a night class. Day class for humans night class for vampires. But to make sure the humans don't find out that the night class is only vampires they have gaurdians/perfects. They keep the peace and enforce the rules. The perfect exist of Yuuki, a girl who does not remember her past before she was five when she found out vampires existed and has no memory of her family, and is also in love with a pure blood vampire by the name of Kaname, reason is that he saved her from a vampire who was going to kill her. And Zero, he was born into a vampire hunter family and hates vampires because a pureblood vampire killed his family. Yuuki believes that Kaname knows something about the past she can't remember, and zero is hiding something and what is it? Read the manga and find out!

I love this story because vampires are usually just vampires in stories, but vampires in this story came as different ranks, like pure bloods (vampires that are the leaders of all vampire's, very rare and are the only ones that can change humans to vampires.), nobels, normal vampires, ex-human vampires (vampires that were once human), and E vampires (vampires that have gone insane). The other part I like is that they are trying to have a school where vampire's and humans co-exist without any human knowing! This story is also great that the pure blood vampire Kaname has only eye's for Yuuki, what's that about(I already know but I won't spoil it)? This story of sadness and slight humor with mystery and a hint of love on top really makes you not want to put the book down!
