Love this book! Besides have a completely original premise (at the time), it amazed me how Mr. Steakley could completely switch the focus of the story partway through without ticking me off. Yes, I felt irritated, but I was already so confident in his storytelling skills, I was willing to bide with him, and he didn't let me down. (The movie, on the other hand? Don't get me started.)
