This is a very different take on a romance novel when it begins. The main character, Molly Shields, a successful publisher from Los Angeles, is invited to Indian Rock, AK, by her ex-boyfriend, Thayer Ryan's wife, Psyche. After dating Thayer for quite sometime, Molly discovered that she was pregnant with his child. At that time, Thayer sprung on her that he was actually married and had no interest in raising a child with her. Through much anquish and thought, Molly gave up her baby, Lucas, to be raised by Thayer and Psyche. Now, 2 years old, and Thayer having died suddenly a few months back, Molly decides to take Psyche up on her invitation, so she will have the much awaited oppurtunity to see Lucas. Upon arriving, Molly learns of Psyche's terminal cancer and dying wish, for Molly to raise Lucas, there in her childhood home. The two women become close and they both learn to forgive and embrace Lucas. But, Lucas has an executor named as well, Keegan Mckettrick, Psyche's childhood sweetheart, who is still in love with her....upon meeting this Keegan, Molly remembers meeting him once before when sh had been out with Thayer....Keegan instantly takes a stron disliking to Molly and it shows the first few encounters...will they ever be able to make peace with each other, after all, they will have Lucas in common???
