It’s a profound play about the daemonic power of groupthink, of the mob, of a society ruled by fear, and sadly, this play is more relevant today than...” see full review » see other reviews » |

“I read the Crucible for my Literature class. It's a fictional play about an event that occurred during the Salem Witch Trials in Massachusetts. One main character which we meet is Abigail. Abigail is the god daughter of the minister in the town. To be the god daughter of a minister, she was quite controversial. She allegedly had an affair with John Proctor. She blamed his wife of being a witch. Soon after, most of the women in town were being called witches and sent to jail for it. I found this book to be quite interesting and easy to read since it was a play and plays are usually easier to understand than novels. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys trials, accusing others and witches.
