Yes | No“Emily Farington's reputation was "ruined" in an "UNFORTUNATE INCIENT" 5 years ago when she ran away to get married at Gretna Green (the Las Vegas of Scotland). She ended up spending the night in an inn with her intended. S.A. Traherne is a mysterious Earl who has corresponded with Emiy about her poetry and romantic literature. Emily has never met him but loves him deeply from his letters (First Internet romance?). Little does she know that she is an important link to her father that figues in the Earl of Blade's 23yr old scheme of vengeance. Although it seems a dark story it becomes a wonderful romp”

She falls head over heels in love with a pen pal, a sensitive, intelligent, noble man by the name of Simon Augustus Treyherne, Earl of Blade. In truth he is out for revenge. It was great fun watching how he coped when he met Emily and was confronted by her utter belief in his noble motives.”
