Let’s just say she’s written better books than this one. I would have enjoyed it more if the characters were developed further. There is a certain lack of depth that her other books were endowed with.

Another "quick" Amanda Quick read. This author continued with her romance/mystery format which I like because let's face it, we all know the characters are going to end up together. But what we don't know is who-done-it! And I like guessing. In this story said female character inherits goodies from her uncle and lures the male character into a scheme to get revenge on her dead friend's murdering husband.

Typical historical romance...very cookie cutter. I rated it I liked it only because I was looking for a book I wouldn't have to think while reading, just to pass the time. Other than that, I have read one other Amanda Quick novel, "Mistress" and this was practically identical in plot and hero/heroine. As far as pacing goes, Amanda is "quick", so it's easy to read and not be bogged down in historical details or unneeded subplots. Plenty of ridiculous sex, as usual for this genre, so if you don't want that, skip this book.

Funny situtation. I liked the characters and the story.

Pretty good book, but kind of hard to get into in the beginning. Young Adult, definitely. Romantic (but not mushy) with a bit of thrill to it.

Read this novel after finishing OUTLANDER 1 by Miss DG.
Quite a change. Short but very enjoyable.
