Well, I didn't quite like the book as I loved his other works. But I'll blame this to translation as in bits the book was amazing but somehow here n there the language flattered, sometimes it became too dense and sometimes it plainly looked wrong.
The premise of the book is amazing and so is the story, with several layers, and loads of scope for interpretation.

The protagonist is so thrilled by this novel that he sets off in search of the new life it describes, finding a number of other readers who have become similarly consumed as well as a few people who seek to destroy the book because of the effect it has its followers. No passages from the book are revealed, and the audience is left to hypothesize about its nature through the actions of the main character and other obsessed readersnovel””

The story never got me, the character was not interesting...
I wouldn't recommend it.”
“Within a year I probably even won't remember what it was about. The story and the behaviour of the protagonist were totally unconvincing to me. Gibberish, but I finished it and it still could be written worse, so two stars.”

It is repetitive and at times tedious. I only stayed with it because it had such promising reviews. How they can compare Pamuk with Borges, Marquez and Kafka is beyond me.”
