• Laurel Sewell: The main character; a girl who's discovered that she's a Fall faerie in the first book, Wings. She blossoms every fall with a bluish flower. David's girlfriend.
• David Adam Lawson: Laurel's human boyfriend. Knows Laurel is a faerie. Adores her blossom. He is very studious and loves biology.
• Tamani: A spring faerie. Works as a sentry in the forests surrounding the gate to Avalon also known as the Faerie Realm. Has known Laurel since she was a child (she doesn't remember) and loves her dearly. He is called Tam by his close friends and family.
• Jamison: A very old, wise Winter faerie.
• Jeremiah Barnes: A troll who is after Laurel.
• Katya: A friendly Fall faerie. She serves as Laurel's tutor in Avalon.
• Chelsea: Laurel's friend in the human world, Chelsea is very talkative and truthful and has lots of curly hair.
• Ryan: Chelsea's boyfriend.
• Shar: Another sentry, Tamani's friend.
• Klea Wilson: A mysterious woman who hunts trolls, carries guns and wears sunglasses all the time.
• Rowen: In the human world she would be considered Tam's niece. She is a Summer faerie that is about to go to school.
• Yeardley: One of Laurel's instructors.
• Mara: Used to be Laurel's friend before she lived with the humans. Now she is out to be the best Fall faerie.
• Rhoslyn: Tam's mother. She's a "gardener, " the faeries' version of a midwife.
