I also like that the main character was flawed. But, other than saying that she quits everything she starts, the book doesn't give us a lot to go on about Lily's character. I'm left confused as to the choices she made that don't seem consistent. Why did Lily feel loyal to Sabrina, but not her best friend? What caused her sudden attitude with her father? She'll steal, beg, and lie - but won't kiss a guy because he used to date someone else? I can make guesses as to what the author was expecting us to assume, but the changes in Lily's personality were sudden and without provocation. And the end was rushed and random (Evie forgives her after 3 sentences? A teenage Max is just waiting for an entire year without talking, texting, or email?)”

Lily gave up her regular summer of soccer camp. Her final summer before her senior year. Why would she do that? Well, if she wanted to get into her college of choice, Brown University, she seriously needed an internship to make her stand out in her college applications.
Lily has an internship lined up at a Manhattan art museum and it will look fabulous when she applies. Except it falls through. No soccer camp (which is where her best friend and potential boyfriend are) and no internship. No Brown University.
Well, connections come through and she ends up being an intern for "Sabrina Snow." (She can't tell readers the real identity of this famous teenage star so we have to imagine her as someone like Lindsay Lohan or Paris Hilton). Lily's luck seems to be in her favor. She gets to hang out with this famous teenager, go to super parties, and shop at exclusive stores. But it isn't that easy. Sabrina's manager wants Lily to call him if Sabrina's behavior is negative, harmful, or questionable. Sabrina wants Lily to assist her with everything and to not get in her way. What's a girl to do?
Lily learns a great deal about Sabrina, celebrity life, and herself. This is a fun book by new author, Lizabeth Zindel. It's full of dramedy, pop culture, and provides an insider look into a world that seems so glamorous. Or is the grass just greener? Read GIRL OF THE MOMENT to find out.

“When Lily's internship at the Museum of Modern Art falls through, she thinks her summer is ruined. Then her dad hooks her up with a once-in-a-lifetime chance to intern for Sabrina Snow-sixteenyear-old Hollywood starlet and the girl of the moment. From the pages of Party Weekly magazine, Sabrina's world looks like a nonstop merry-go-round of glamorous parties, red-carpet events, and designer clothes. But Lily soon learns that catering to a rising star is more work than play. Once she develops a crush on Sabrina's boyfriend (that may or may not be reciprocated) and a yearning to help a needy fan, Lily's summer starts to spiral out of control. If she can get things back in order, she will be richly rewarded. But do the costs of working for Sabrina outweigh the benefits? Publishers Weekly ”
