“Seth Mackey is undercover and trying to find his brother's killer's. While investigating his spy cam picks up the beautiful new playmate of Lazar she seems so innocent for him. After meeting her Raine Cameron sets him straight that she is a secretary only. But later will admit to being his niece. She is her to find her father's killer. And she suspects her uncle Lazar. She will team up with Seth and the get close. But there is alot of very fierce sex that is a little over the top. Seth has no social skills. Maybe because he practically raised himself and his brother. I thought Raine was very understanding with his crazy possessiveness. But this story has lots of suspense and twists and turns. ”July L wrote this review Thursday, July 12, 2012. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“I would give it 3 1/2 if I could. The only reason I'm not giving it a 4 is because it took me a long time to warm up to the male main character, almost to the point of putting the book down. I'm glad I didn't. His roughness toned down or I wasn't as bothered by it as much after a while.”Sue G wrote this review Sunday, March 11, 2012. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? “This story had so much potential but failed to keep the primary focus on the suspense aspect of the plot. There were some of the most viscous and cold-blooded villains to capitalize on but instead the attention was mainly on the endless rounds of sexual encounters between Raine and Seth. While I found a way to eventually bond with them, Seth was a little too cave-man for my liking and Raine a confusing enigma.
I think the series has potential so I plan to continue but this one was just okay. ”
“Dark and gritty romantic suspense. Raine Cameron is out for revenge against the man that killed her fatther. Seth Mackey is after the same man for setting up his brother and contributing to his death. The two are like fire and gasoline. Hot sex and heated arguments. 4 stars”moondance120 wrote this review Friday, September 9, 2011. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“Obnoxious hero and irritating heroine. The book is saved by the intricate plot and steamy scenes (even though these were a bit overdone).
The tech descriptions were excessive and the supernatural overtones out of place.
Hopefully the next book will be an improvement.
“Surveillance expert Seth Mackey knows everything about the women his millionaire boss Victor Lazar toys with--and tosses aside. But Lazar's latest plaything, Raine Cameron, is different. Beautiful. Vulnerable. And innocent. Just looking at her triggers a white-hot passion Seth can barely control as night after night, he watches her on a dozen different video screens. Raine is pure temptation, but Seth can't slip up: he's convinced Lazar had his half-brother murdered. His secret investigation--and his life--are on the line. But then he finds out that Raine may be Lazar's next victim...
