No More Dead Dogs

by Gordon Korman

I knew Old Shep was going to die before I started page one, I said. Dont be ridiculous, Mr Fogelman snapped. How? I shrugged. Because the dog always dies. Go to the library and pick out a book with an award sticker and a dog on the cover. Trust me, that dog is going down. Not true! stormed the teacher. Well, I challenged, what happens to Old Yeller? Oh, all right, he admitted. So Old Yeller... (read more)

I had to read this book in 6th grade. I wans't very fond of the idea, but it turns out that this is a great book.
There's this boy who is truful on everything! He won't ever tell a lie because of his father. Now it comes to a book report and he HATED the book. He couldn't stand it...bit his teacher happens to love this book so much that it's his favorite. His teacher wants Wallace to re-write this review, but Wallace refuses. This is his opinion and he won't lie. He gets detention and can't go inot football agian until he's out of it. What makes it worst is that his detention is with the Drama club, which is making a play out of this book he had to do the review on.
Through out this story he somehow falls in love, gets rid of an enemy, lies, and saves a play, all without re=writing a review. Wanna find out how? Read it then!

Wallace - is it a dog or a person? Does the dog or a person gets in trouble?
Wallace is a boy that doesn’t tell a lie. Wallace gets in trouble then he goes in a play. Someone tries to ruin the play. Everyone thinks it’s Wallace. In the meantime Wallace makes changes to the play. Then they found the person who did it. In the end Wallace finally tells a lie. But read this book to find out why.
My favorite quote is when Rachel said, “She ruffled the blond mop-top.” (No More Dead Dogs, Gordo Korman, pg. 180) It is my favorite quote because it looks like it means that she ruffled with a blond mop-top.
I think that’s the main idea of this book is hat if a teacher tells you to do something do it right the first time.
I think that it is a good book because its is funny.
Yes, I would recommend this book to my cousin Jason because he likes to read.

Football star quits the football team to join the drama club.
The story was about a kid named Wallace that never lies. He was in the football team. He told the teacher that he didn’t like the book that they read because in all the dog books they die in the end. The teacher gave him detention which was in play rehearsals and they kick him out the football practices. In the end he says that he was the one that was sabotaging the play. In the play some one is trying to mess it up and they are always blaming it on Wallace because he didn’t like the book.
My favorite part was when Trudi said to Rachel, ”Shut up, bigmouth! Snapped Trudi.” (No More Dead Dogs, Gordon Koman, pg. 32) That’s my favorite part because its funny.
I think that the book was good because you need to find out who is the one that was destroying the play and why they did it..
I would recommend it to my friends and to people that like to read.

‘‘No More Dead Dogs’’ by Gordon Korman. He can’t lie! But he always tells the truth. But can the truth be a threat?! What will Wallace do?!
This book is about a kid named Wallace, he never tells a lie. He is the football team’s super hero. He got in trouble with his teacher because he did not want to lie about the book review. He did the book review but he wrote that he did not like it but the teacher did not resave it .So now he has to stay for detention until he gives him a good book. But he won’t say a lie. Now he is helping the play out because he can’t go to the football games or practice. But, somebody was trying to do something about it, but they don’t know who it was they were doing really bad sabotages. They were blaming all on Wallace, but they didn’t know he won’t say a lie. So now he is trying to clean his name. I won’t tell you more because then what’s the whole point of you reading the book?
My favorite part is when Rachel Turner wrote a letter to Julia Roberts ‘‘Dear Julia, So much has happened! Where do I start? Let’s just say that the next time you run into Brad Pitt around Hollywood, you owe him a big apology.’’(No More Dead Dogs, Gordon Korman, pg.174)It was one of the funniest parts in the book.
I think the message is that telling the truth may be very good but sometimes it can be very tricky to use. So the famous motto is of course ‘‘The whole truth and nothing but the truth’’.
This book is very outstanding book. I don’t usually like reading but I actually read this one because it was so good. Because there was a lot of drama and that everyone had their chance of telling their part of the story.
I would recommend this book if you like middle school and football and plays. I would recommend it to my friend Cesar because he likes books with drama, football, and plays. Those are the interests that he finds interesting in books.

NO MORE DEAD DOGS BOOK REVIEW

All whole truth and nothing but..
Wallace Wallace is a fourteen year old boy who is a million percent honest he never tells a lie. He is a foot ball hero but he doesn’t think so because he only scored one touch down in the whole year. This book No More Dead Dogs is NOT a chapter book it is like a chapter book but its not. It is told by the characters different point of view. It doesn’t say chapter one it says enter Wallace Wallace… or enter Rachel Turner… and enter Mr. Fogelman…
My favorite part is the seen when Wallace Wallace finally told a lie:” I did it was me all along im sorry.” (No More Dead Dogs, Gordon Korman PG 173) This is my favorite part because Wallace NEVER told a lie so it was kind of shocking. He did it so Rachel won’t get mad at his 5th grade brother Dylan Person attacking the Old Shep My Pal play the classic novel by Zack Paris.
I think the author wants me to know that even some times you have to tell a lie for the good of other people or to not hurt their feelings and to get a good grade to at least make some thing up and to not get people mad at other people because Wallace got in trouble with his teachers I also think that its good to be honest because now everyone saw what lies lead to.
To me this book was a good book because this book shows you about honesty and who your friends really are.
I would recommend this book to people that are like Wallace Wallace 100% honest to show the that they don’t have to be 100% honest every day of your life you may hurt someone’s feelings or get in trouble with your teachers.

No More Dead Dogs Book Review

Have you ever been blamed for what some one else did? Read so you find out who ruined the play.
“No More Dead Dogs” is a 21 chapter book with 180 pages. It started at school, he wrote a bad book report. Wallace has never lied because he saw that his parents got divorced because his dad always lied to his mom. Wallace was a football player, the team got to the seasons because Wallace made touch downs. Mr. Fogelman is very mean to them. He is the Reading teacher and director of the play. Trudi Davis fell in love with Wallace Wallace. Rachel Started to defend him because every day, someone was ruining the play and they blamed Wallace. So Rachel started to investigate who did it. Wallace was fired from the play. Wallace started to change. Wallace went to the show even though he was banned to find out who ruined the play. Then Rachel Figured out that Dylan was the one, (her little brother). They were going to give him a punishment but Wallace told them that it was him. He took the blame, first time he ever said a lie.
My favorite part is when the people were Rollerblading but they were bumping to each another because they could not skate that well. “If you people can Rollerblade around the stage without bumping into one another and breaking your necks, I suppose it’s worth a try.”(No More Dead Dogs, Gordon Korman, p.g 92)
The main idea of the book is that you need to tell a lie when you need to like if somebody cooks something that you don’t like and she asks you if you liked, if you say no you might hurt there feelings but if you say yes you won’t hurt there feelings.
The book of “No more dead dogs” is really good because it has action and also is mysterious. Someone always ruins something. They always blame Wallace but it’s not him. It’s Dylan who does the stuff.
I recommend this book to people that really like to read about mystery, a play, and can read a lot of chapters.

    No More Dead Dogs
Wallace had never told a lie until he lie to one girl to save her brother from getting in trouble, so is Rachel the one for Wallace or not.
This book was about a boy named Wallace and one day he got into trouble with his teacher Mr. Fogelman and he had to serve detention at the school play helping out and he hated the play because it was about the book Old Shep, My Pal. So then some mysterious sabotage started to happen and everyone blamed Wallace just because everybody knew he hated the book. Then though they had no proved he did it. At the end of the story it ended up being Rachel’s little brother, who would have thought that the little boy would be behind all of the sabotages.
My favorite part of the story was the part when Julia Roberts finally writes to Rachel because she never had wrote to her until that moment in the book: “Dear Rachel, I’ve starred in enough romantic comedies to know one when I see it”. (No More Dead Dogs, Gordon Korman, Page 177)
What I think is the lesson to this book is I think that you should not accuse some one of doing something if you did not see him/her do it or if you do not have prove. It could end up being some one else that you never ever expected it to be.
I did think this book was good because it was very interesting. It makes you want to read more because you want to find out who is behind everything making everybody’s lives miserable.
I would recommend this book to anyone because it is very good; it has sad parts, happy parts, and exciting parts. It has twists and turns on who was behind the sabotage.

No More Dead Dogs Book Review

Wallace always tells the truth! Do you want to know if he is going to tell a lie? Do you want to know the disaster on the play!?
This book is about a boy named Wallace his real name is Wally. He never told a lie because his father always tells a lie on her mother and his parents got divorce. Wallace does not like a book that is called: Old Shep, My Pal because at the end the dog dies. Mr. Fogelman is the English teacher and the director of the play in the school. Mr. Fogelman favorite book is Old Shep, My Pal and he said to write a book review about that book. Wallace writes a book review. Wallace review was bad because Mr. Fogelman did not like the book review. Mr. Fogelman sends him to detention. Wallace writes a book review on why does Wallace hate the book and explain. Mr. Fogelman tells him no because Mr. Fogelman does not want that book review because it has to be a good book review. At first, Mr. Fogelman told him you could be on the play and do all the changes. After Mr. Fogelman realized that the play was a disaster, he told Wallace to go on the football team, you do not have to go to detention, and you do not have to be on the play. Wallace did not want to go to the football team because he wanted to know who did all the mess on the play. Wallace and his friend Rick went to on the stage of the looker with a videotape because there were practicing, Wallace pressed pause. Suddenly he heard something and he put play on the tape. Then it split juice all over they did not know how because there was to many people passing. Wallace put rewind on the videotape in slow- motion to see who did it. There were looking in everything it was to dark. They heard a voice and they looked up by a table on the grown. Dylan is Wallace big fan. Dylan did all this mess! Wallace did not want to tell Rachel that her little brother was the cause of all this mess. Wallace did not want to feel mad about it because it was Rachel dream that one day she will be an actress. Wallace told a lie that he did all this mess! Wallace and Rachel came together.
My favorite part is when it was the first bad thing that happened in the play that was the scenery board spray-printed: OLD SHEP, DEAD MUTT because it was a mystery to me. I wanted to know who did it. “Old Shep, Dead Mutt! Yeah, that is funny! Said Trudi “Well, I don’t think so, who was mean enough to do a rotten thing like this?” said Rachel. (No More Dead Dogs, Gordon Korman pg. 32)
I think the one thing the author wants me to know is that when I do not like a book just do the work that I have to do so I could not have problems with my teachers, my friends, and my parents.
No More Dead Dogs is the good book that I ever read. It was like a mystery to me because in the story it makes me feel like a detective. It was good because there was drama on the play and everyone thinks that Wallace did it. Eventually Dylan did all this kind of mess on the play.
I recommend this book to good readers who enjoy the mystery, the drama and of course the truth/lie theme.

No More Dead Dogs Book Review

Have you ever told a lie; do you want to know a boy who hasn’t?

No More Dead Dogs is a 180 page book, about a boy named Wallace who says that he will never tell a lie. This book has a lot of great characters like Rachel the leader of the drama club, and Trudi the girl that falls in love with Wallace Wallace. Wallace was the famous football player in the school until he didn’t want to write a book report on a book that he hates “Old Shep My Pal” so his teacher Mr.Fogelman made him stay in detention until he finished the book report. Wallace refused so he had to stay in the rehearsal room for “Old Shep My Pal” the play. Wallace thought the book was terrible so he stared changing up the play. At the end it wasn’t a play it was a party mixed with a concert. Mean while somebody is messing up the play by spray painting on the set and by tangling up all the cords for the play, somebody also through pepper all over the cast and staff.
My favorite part of the book was when they find out who was doing all that stuff to the play. It was Dylan Turner “Dylan, are you crazy?” Wallace rasped. “Me crazy?” he shot back. “I’m not the one who killed the Giants,” “The Giants work hard too you know”, “It’s too late to stop it.” (No More Dead Dogs, Gordon Korman, pg. 168)
I think that the lesson of this book is not to tell a lie unless it’s helping someone or unless you really have to and if it’s not hurting somebody’s feelings.
I think that the book was a little bit boring, because there wasn’t a lot of action most of the time and I like books with action in every chapter. I didn’t really like this book that much. It wouldn’t be a book that I would read for fun.
I would recommend this book to people that don’t have anything to do and that like to read a lot because I think that people that have things to do wouldn’t want to waste their time with this book.

Have you ever heard of a person with the same first and last name and never tells a lie???? I have.
Wallace Wallace is the big football star of the school. One bad book report put him in the dog house (detention.) Rachael Turner is head of the drama comity she just hates the way he is so self consider. Trudi Davis is the groupie to Wallace anything he does is amazing in her eyes. Wallace doesn’t like the play old shep my pal (not even the book.) Bad things start happening to the play so then Wallace gets blamed. He can say he didn’t do but no one will believes him even though he never tells lies.

My favorite part was when Trudi thought that she was actually Wallace Wallace’s girl friend, until Rachel broke out and said “You’re not his girl friend if anyone should be his girl friend it should be me.” No more dead dogs, Gordon korman, page 115. I was confused in that moment because I thought she hated Wallace Wallace, until she admitted that. I actually did think that Rachael liked Wallace and I was sure when she said what she said.
I think that the lesson or theme was that always believe in someone, you never know they may surprise you. For example Rachael kept thinking it was Wallace until she found out that he never tells lies ever. That surprised her because then she realized he wasn’t lying. I really think that is the main idea.
This book was very good because I love the way you can begin reading the first page and not stop until you hit the end of the book. I love the way that when you read this book it feels like you are one of the characters witnessing the scenes.
Yes, I would recommend this book to anyone because it is funny, but at some parts it can be very intense. You don’t want to take your eyes off of it until you hit the end. Many kids and adults of all ages would love this book.
