An absolutely must have for parents who value creativity this is a tale of a little boy who goes for a nighttime adventure spawned by his imagination and his trusty purple crayon.

The problem was that me reading this at such a young age gave me a feeling of need to grab a purple crayon and go crazy with it. Such a bad influence;)

What an imagination builder! We loved Harold for the worlds he could build with just a crayon.

I loved this book when I was a kid because I had such a great imagination. Harold shares his imagination where nothing is impossible. I still love this book.

Harold created many fantastic adventures with his purple crayon. I found this book boring. It's kind of long. I don't think kids will be impressed enough with the purple illustrations. Ages 2 to 6?

Most certainly one of the best children's book ever written.

My daughter's current favorite book. She likes me to read it several times in a row and then she'll read it to me. The text is short and simple - easy to follow along and remember. The illustration is perfectly simple - it shows the adventure succinctly which makes it easy for my daughter to "read" the story to me. What a fun book!

A wonderful children's book you can share with children and grandchildren. Harold takes his purple crayon and creates his own little world. Great story.

Great use of imagination, you can create a whole world with one crayon. He has all he needs, food, someone to ask directions from, a mountain to climb, a boat and a way home. What more could you ask for in an adventure.
