Max Cassidy: Escape From Shadow Land by Paul Adam, is also a fast paced-book, mainly about murdering, but also including Max Cassidy, whose mother is being accused of killing her own husband, and sent to jail for 20 years, while his father has been long gone, believed that had been murdered. So when Max meets and man and after a few days has been killed with a bullet hole in his head, he heads out to Santo Domingo, where his father has last been, in search for evidence that his father is still alive and that his mother did not do anything. So when he goes to Shadow Land, a private owned island by a rich businessman, and meets a guy named Chris, they trail together for a few weeks. What will happen next? Read to find out! This book is great for anyone who likes killing, mystery, or boys.

Pretty good action adventure, similar to Horowitz's Adam Rider series. A fourteen year old boy works to find evidence that will exonerate his mom, who's in prison for the murder of his dad. Again, the teenager manages to avoid shooting or killing anyone directly, but there's plenty of violence happening all around him.

Max is an ordinary boy. He is an escape artist. After one of his shows a man comes up to him and says he thinks max's father is still alive. Max goes to where his father was assassinated and investigates. Do you think Max will find his father? This is a great book and I recommend it
