The difference between a good economist and a lousy one is the ability to discern secondary and tertiary effects beyond just the desired outcomes and good intentions of policy makers. Sowell is a good economist. An excellent companion to his "Basic Economics."

Didn’t Like It

Well I bought this book to kind of a get a different perspective on the economy. I won't go into bashing this book other than to say it's a stone cold look at economics with the human element being examined only to gauge reaction. If you believe that we have absolutely NO social responsibility for one another (and I mean not even a tiny bit) than this book will give you a look into that part of economics.
