I know Pat White from her professional wrestling romances. Who knew the writer with a sense of humor could write an engaging romantic suspense? I felt the anguish in Max's character to find their suspect. And Cassie was a nice surprise. I'm halfway through the second book in the series. It's definitely holding my interests!

Not what I'd hoped it would be.

This was a book I'd pick up and continue reading when I was bored, not a book I'd hate to put down. While the ending was a bit surprising the rest of the book was hardly a page turner. I never felt all that connected to any of the characters and the storyline seemed to drag. Lots of unanswered questions and inplausible scenarios.
Oooooh Inspectorisms!

I love all books with the word "Inspector" in the title...yes, it's a weird quirk :)

This is a great read: suspenseful, romantic, with a troubled, tortured hero...what more can a girl ask for? I found Cassie to be just the right combination of fiesty and soft and I loved the fact that when Max and Cassie knew they were attracted to each other, they acted on it instead of beating around the bush for 100 pages.

By the end of the story, I was madly in love with both Max Templeton and Jeremy Barnes. Two hot guys for the price of one!

Great book Pat! I am going out to get the second book in the Blackwell series immediately!

I am a complete anglophile and loved the idea of the British inspector. The Britishness of the inspector didn't come across strongly. Other than that it was an enjoyable book.
