“It's nice to see Adam Black in a new light.”

However, i didn't love it as much as the other books in the Highlander series so far. I can't put my finger on why exactly. I really liked Adam, he was funny, passionate, interesting and sexy as hell or course and Gabrielle was a likeable character. Although I didn't love her as much as the other female characters so far, same with Adam. Their story just didn't touch me the way the others did. I still enjoyed it though. I really liked seeing Dageus, Chloe, Drustan and Gwen again. And having read the Fever series already Darroc's involvement in this story was very interesting and knowing the role he plays in Fever, very interesting and foreshadowing of what is to come.”

While I am not a rabid fan of the books, primarily due to Mac's vacuousness and the excessively drawn out writing style, the detailed world building, engrossing Fae invasion plot and Barrons (*swoon*) make them worthwhile. The insight in The Immortal Highlander into the backstory of a Sidhe-seer family and the history behind Darroc's relationship with Adam are particularly intriguing and add to my appreciation of both Adam and Gabby's story and Mac's struggles in the spin-off.
Another excellent aspect of the book is the return of Gwen and Drustan, and Chloe and Daegus from the previous two installments - it was great catching up with their romances.
Now to Adam and Gabby. To be honest, I was expecting more from Adam's redemption. Yes, he is gorgeous, sensual and sexy but he doesn't seem to learn humility or what it really means to be human until the last few pages. There should have been a more gradual development and recognition of his humanity. Gabrielle, on the other hand, is my type of heroine, full of spice and sass. She definitely gives Adam a run for his money and their interactions are wonderful.
Overall, this is a fun read but it doesn't quite succeed in knocking Daegus off his pedestal. ”
“Loved, loved, loved this book! This is such a great series.
I really disliked Adam Black when I first met the conniving little bugger but WOW did he ever redeem himself in this book!

“SOO Loved ADAM BLACK My type of guy definitely ”

And Moning does it again. THE IMMORTAL HIGHLANDER has got to be the best book in the series so far. This book was impossible to put down and I am wishing that I could be thrown in the story just to be near hot and sexy, Adam Black. Karen Marie Moning definitely needs to write about more sexy highlanders! I just can’t get enough!
“That is not my car!”
“Correction. You used to drive a falling apart Toyota. B.A.”
Had his lips just brushed her hair? She shivered. And though she knew better than to ask, she did it anyway.
“Okay. You got me. What’s B.A.?”
“Before. Adam. After Adam, you drive a BMW. I take care of what is mine. That Toyota wasn’t safe.”
I loved Adam and Gabby together! As usual there was excellent sexual tension. Like as if Moning could fail in that department! Just like the rest of Moning‘s books I just feel in love with the characters! I love that in these Highlander books that the heroine is a virgin, there is traveling involved, there is a very emotional separation between the hero and heroine and of course we get that perfect and I MEAN PERFECT happily ever after ending! Like I said, I just can’t get enough!
“Now it’s not just my lip you’ll be needing to kiss if you’re wishing to make amends with me, Irish.”
Adam is my man and I LOVE him! I swear, there hasn’t been a hero in any of Moning‘s books that I haven’t LOVED! I fall in love each them all and end up drooling over them all! Even if you’re not a huge Historical Romance fan or never read any in that genre, you will be converted. Moning‘s Highlander Series is PURE GOLD!”
“This book wasn't as good as the 2 before in the series. I enjoyed the storyl-line however all the "recaps" got a bit tiresome, considering I had just finished reading the previous books in the series, I don't think I needed to know all that was told, even if I hadn't read those books, they gave away the plot of them and I would have rather been intrigued to read them - just my thoughts there. Other than that I liked Adam and Gabby. Gabby cracked me up a few times. I started to see a bit of the "before" and stuff leading up to the fever series.. which was kinda interesting.”
