Adam, after helping Daegus with his fight against the Draghar, in the previous book, angered Aoibheal and is sent into the human world stripped of his Fae powers. Not a pleasant thing for such a haughty and superior Fae prince. Enter Gabrielle, a 20-something lawyer living in Cinncinati who also happens to be a Sidhe Seer, or one who can see the Fae. Adam's curse was to live in the human world but be cloaked by Fae powers, never to be visible by humans. Fortunately for Adam, Aoibheal and all the rest of the Fae thought Sidhe Seers died out long ago but apparently some lines still survive. Adam forces himself upon Gabrielle's company and eventually enlists her help in dealing with his new situation. Meanwhile Darroc, one of Adam's former friends now turned enemy, seeks to kill Adam while he's in this vunerable state by unleashing some of the Unseelie hunters from their frosty prisons. Darroc also intends, with his new friends, to overthrow Aoibheal in order to break down the walls between Fae and human. So, Gabrielle and Adam now have to seek Aoibheal's attention to stop Darroc. Where to go? To the MacKeltars of course! But, as always, intermediate storyline occurs and Adam goes back to the Fae realm once Darroc is stopped. Adam makes the utilmate sacrifice, for a Fae, in order to be with Gabby thus mitigating his ability to help with the upcoming showdown in the Fever Series. Or so we fans think anyway....
