Daegus MacKeltar, Drustan's twin brother, lives in present day New York City and has the souls of thirteen evil Druids, called the Draghar, residing within this head. In order to save Drustans life back in the 16th century, Daegus had to use his gifts as a Druid for "personal" gain, thus evoking an ancient curse set by the Tua de Dhanna upon himself. He seeks a way to rid the Draghar through ancient tomes, but his time is running out...they are starting to slowly take control over his mental faculties. Chloe, a 20-something year old works as an expert in ancient languages at a museum in NYC. When her museum receives a request by Daegus to read a very priceless book, Chloe is forceably sent to his penthouse to deliver the tome. Once there, Daegus takes her hostage. Eventually, she begins to help him in his quest to find whatever he can that will reveal the origins of the Draghar and how to get rid of them. At the same time a sect dedicated to seeing the return of the Draghar has sent an agent to locate Daegus and bring him to London, where they plan to force Daegus to use his powers and unleash the Draghar. But, Daegus and Chloe discover that the information they need is missing and only going back into the past will help them in their research. Once back in 16th century Scotland, they discover a library in the MacKeltar castle that was sealed and hidden from previous generations. The reasons behind this barracade is unknown, for now. Eventually they learn what they can and return to the present. A showdown with the Draghar's followers occurs and Aoibheal is forced to intercede...an intercession which momentarily rips the laws of physics to pieces and downs all magical wards across the globe...an event which is important in the 7 book.
