Linda I edited the summary of The Highlander's Touch Saturday, May 29, 2010.
Circenn, or Cin, is the laird of his keep and Adam's son. That means he's half Fae, half human. He's immortal and very unhappy about it. This story takes place during the 16th century, the time of Robert the Bruce and Scotlands fight against the British for independence. Cin is the keeper and protector of the Seelie relics of power. In order to protect one of the relics he places a spell on it whereby any who touches it will be transported to him directly regardless of distance and/or time. Lisa is a 20-something year old who lives in modern day Cinncinati and is down on her luck. Her father died in an automobile accident and her mother is dying of cervical cancer. Since she has to help her mother, Lisa must work and had to forfeit college for the time being. She works as a maid at a local museum which just received a priceless artifact from Scotland that dates back many millenia. Because she is uncontrollably curious, Lisa touches the relic and, predictably, is thrown back in time right at Cin's feet. Cin who, because of his Fae heritage, is familiar with the mysteries of time is not so much startled by her sudden appearance but by the power of his spell. He laments even casting the spell and has worked hard to fight the temptations of power that come from being part Fae. Intermediate storyline occurs and Cin and Lisa fall in love. But ultimately Lisa calls upon Aoibheal to take her back to her mother. The obligation to her dying mother drives Lisa mad during her time in Scotland. In the end, Cin must come to terms with his heritage in order to cross the barriers of time and get Lisa back
