Cian MacKeltar has been trapped in an Unseelie mirror, or what they call an Unseelie Hollow, for 1133 years. And, he's pretty bitter about that. Lucan, another druid from Cian's 10th century origins, imprisoned Cian in order to gain his own immortality. Unfortunately for Lucan, when Aoibheal obliterated the Draghar (in the 5th book) she downed all magical wards. This gave thieves the incalculable possibility of stealing from Lucan, an opportunity that was immediately taken advantage of. Cian's mirror was sold through different networks and eventually purchased by a professor of ancient history at some univeristy in Chicago. Enter Jessi, a 20-something year old and the professor's graduate assistant. When the mirror was delivered to her professor's office, her life went topsy turvy. After one of Lucan's spies located the mirror he attempted to kill Jessi, she temporarily released Cian from the mirror and eventually ended up on a chase to not only protect her life, but Cian's as well. For if Cian were to fall into Lucan's hands once again, he would undoubtedly have to spend the rest of eternity in that mirror of hell. And, of course, where do you think they fled to? That's right, Scotland. Where, synchronistically, they met up with Daegus and the rest of the MacKeltar clan. Stuff happens and Lucan goes away. But, the very end of the book is the best part of the prop up for the Fever Series. As Aoibheal watches the MacKeltars behind her Fae veil, her few simple sentences will help you understand all that is to come.

First Sentence edit see section history

The call that changed the entire course of Jessi St. James's life came on an untterly unremarkable, dateless Friday night that differed in no particularly significant way from any other unremarkable, dateless Friday night in her all-too-predictable life, which--she was in no hurry to discuss--were a lot of Friday nights.
