I personally have an attachment to this book because I can relate with the author. He has served as a United States Marine as well as a Navy Corpsman. Right now, I am on the path of becoming a Marine myself. When I read his account as a Corpsman, I see a foreshadowing of events that will soon...

On Call in Hell was in interesting read that I would reccomend to anyone not only trying to read an exciting war memoir, but someone looking to read a memoir of an emotional mind and get real, honest stories. The book shows real feelings portrayed with good detail in a way which you can really connect with the author. I have never had to make the decisions that Richard Jadick has made but it is easy to put yourself in his shoes with his descriptive and compelling writing style. Another thing I liked about the book is that it had some elements of the war in it, which is interesting for someone that is into current invents. This book can be a little boring at parts but overall I think the book is well writen and worth the read.

I personally have an attachment to this book because I can relate with the author. He has served as a United States Marine as well as a Navy Corpsman. Right now, I am on the path of becoming a Marine myself. When I read his account as a Corpsman, I see a foreshadowing of events that will soon unfold for me. I admire this man and by reading this book, I've uncovered some understanding of myself in the future.

This book was brutally honest and extremely well researched. I was impressed with the author. I have read many books abou the current war in Iraq. This one allowed for one battle and the progress and individuals involved to be told. Excellent read!
