This book started off slow, so much so, I almost gave up on it on page 20. I'm so glad I stuck with it and don't know why I ever considered putting it down before the inspiring end. It turned out to be a real treat, like reading 3 books in one as Peter Underhill, the first person narrator and novelist writes his memoirs a la The Wonder Years--only his Winnie is a beautiful and forbidden African American princess named Ebony Mills--and an interracial...
