Jayfeather and Lionblaze are prophesied to be two of the three cats who hold the power of the stars in their paws. Now they must wait for a sign from StarClan to tell them which of their Clanmates will complete the prophecy. Soon, a StarClan warrior will visit a new ThunderClan apprentice-and the lives of the three chosen cats will be forever linked.

  • Dovepaw: A gray, she-cat apprentice. She is the daughter of Birchfall and Whitewing. Her sister is Ivypaw and her mentor is Lionblaze. She is one of the Three. She can hear things farther than any cat.main character
  • Lionblaze: A ThunderClan warrior, and Dovepaw's mentor. He, Jayfeather and Dovewing are the three. Lionblaze cannot be harmed in battle. main character
  • Jayfeather: ThunderClan's medicine cat. He is blind. He and his brother, Lionblaze, are two of the three cats part of a great prophecy. Dovepaw is the third cat in the prophecy.main character
  • Toadfoot: A ShadowClan Warrior.
  • Birchfall: A ThunderClan warrior, mate of Whitewing, and father of Ivypaw and Dovepaw.
  • Rippletail: A RiverClan warrior.
  • Purdy: A ThunderClan elder. He was once a loner.
  • Leopardstar: The leader of RiverClan.
  • Sedgewhisker: A WindClan warrior.
  • Firestar: The leader of ThunderClan
  • Squirrelflight: A ThunderClan warrior, daughter of Firestar and Sandstorm. She was originally thought to be the mother of Lionblaze, Jayfeather, and Hollyleaf, but it was revealed in Sunrise that she was only pretending to protect her sister. This angered Brambleclaw, and they are no longer mates. Littermate of Leafpool.
  • Ivypaw: Dovepaw's sister, and Cinderheart's apprentice. Daughter of Whitewing and Birchfall.
  • Blackstar: The leader of ShadowClan.
  • Petalfur: A RiverClan warrior
  • Whitewing: A ThunderClan warrior, mate to Birchfall, and mother of Ivypaw and Dovepaw.
  • Tigerheart: ShadowClan warrior. He is in love with Dovepaw.
  • Poppyfrost: A Thunderclan queen. Mate of Berrynose.
  • Berrynose: A ThunderClan warrior, and Poppyfrost's mate.
  • Russetfur: Shadowclan's deputy
  • Ashfoot: Windclan's deputy.
  • Mistyfoot: RiverClan's deptuy
  • Brambleclaw: ThunderClan's deputy. He was once Squirrelflight's mate, but when he found out she'd lied to him about Lionblaze, Jayfeather, and Hollyleaf, he told her they were mates no more.
  • Snowdrop: Kittypet
  • Cinderheart: A ThunderClan warrior, and Ivypaw's mentor. She is Cinderpelt's reincarnation, StarClan's way of giving Cinderpelt's spirit a second chance to be the warrior she wanted to be. She doesn't know about this.
  • Dustpelt: Senior Thunderclan warrior.
