    Sticky Fingers by Niki Burnham
Set in suburban modern day Massachusetts, Niki Burnham illustrates a devoted teen with an ideal life. I can almost feel the amount of pressure put on Jenna Kassarian by her boyfriend to “take their relationship to the next level”. Also, the trials and distress that Jenna and her best friend go through make me feel as if it were me and my best friend.
Jenna seems flawless. Perfect is just the way that Jenna likes to keep her life. She has the perfect boyfriend, the perfect reputation, the perfect grades, and a wonderful best friend. She even receives and early acceptance into Harvard. What more could she ask for? Everything is “peachy keen”. That is until her best friend, Courtney, starts acting strange. Also, her boyfriend, Scott, starts pressuring her to have sex. Jenna struggles a internal moral conflict with herself. One quote from the book states, “He looks so sincere, so into me, that I want to say yes”. Jenna clearly is at battle with herself concerning ethical issues. Will she have enough willpower to say no? Or with early admission into Harvard, will she just relax and let her guard down?
Courtney Delahunt is Jenna’s sidekick. They have been best friends since middle school, and they can just about tell what the other is thinking. One day, Courtney and Jenna go shopping. Jenna has to do a double take because she thinks that she might have seen Courtney knock something into her purse. Jenna is positive that it must have been an accident. Later, Jenna starts to question the situation, and is not sure what she saw—or maybe she is just telling herself that.
Scott is even smarter than Jenna; he has the spot for Valedictorian locked up. He also applied for early admissions into Harvard. He was not as auspicious to get in. However, he is going to try and get in for regular admissions. Scott starts to question Jenna when she does not sleep with him as soon as he would like. Although Scott declares in the novel, “I never want be without you”. When Scott gets testy, will his true colors show? When she decides that she is not ready for sex, will Scott take substantial measures?
The key theme in Sticky Fingers is having boundaries. Knowing when to “say no” is an essential factor. One must set standards for themselves. Also, following through with those standards can be crucial when it comes to morals.
My opinion of this book is superior. I give it a five star. It was very entertaining to read and it taught me some good life lessons. On the contrary, the only flaw that I found in this novel was that at times it did not clearly identify who was speaking. It confused me and I had to go back and reread the little section again, at few points.

    Sticky Fingers
Sticky Fingers by Niki Burnham is a very good novel. The story is told by a teenage girl whose name is Jenna Kossarian. It takes place in present day in Framingham, Massachusetts, not far from when Jenna lives. Jenna has been accepted into one of the highest ranking colleges and now her boyfriend is trying to get her to let loose a little bit and have some fun.

Jenna is the main character. She is a senior in high school and she has always had everything perfect; her grades, the ideal perfect boyfriend, and great friends. I think Jenna is the shy, smart, quiet type of person. But that changes when her boyfriend tries to get her to break loose from studying and enjoy life more. She goes to a party and one drink may change everything.

Scott is another main character, he is Jenna’s boyfriend. He is aiming for the next step in him and Jenna’s relationship by the time they graduate but Jenna isn’t too excited about the thought of that. In my opinion Scott is more of the pushy, confident type of guy. He is expecting the next step by the time they graduate but Jenna isn’t.

Courtney is Jenna’s best friend and she is another main character. Jenna think Courtney and Scott are keeping a secret from her which makes me think that Courtney is more of the sneaky, stealing person. Why? Well because Jenna catches Courtney stealing nail polish from a store this changes Jenna’s thoughts about Courtney now.

Jenna Kossarion is a senior and has it all. But Jenna’s boyfriend tries to get her to relax for one minute and talks to her about taking the next step in their relationship. Jenna isn’t to ready just yet. At this point things begin to go down hill in Jenna’s life when she notices her friend stealing nail polish from a local store and he friend than begins to act weird. Then one day she catches her boyfriend and best friend arguing and talking. She over hears Courtney tell him,” Scott, I’ll tell her. I’ll tell everyone, and I don’t care what you do to me.” Jenna than begins to wonder what is going on between her boyfriend and best friend. Scott also tells Jenna, “You know, me and Courtney are getting along great now.” This made Jenna even more suspicious about the two of them.

The theme of the story would have to be suspicious because Jenna notices her best friend and boyfriend talking and little details make Jenna think they are keeping secrets from her. Jenna doesn’t know what to expect anymore.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading about suspicious mystery novels. I think it is more of a young adult, teen novel. My strengths for this book are that you don’t really know what the main point of the book is until you made it to the very end. This made me want to keep reading it. But than again the weaknesses are that it got very boring at some times to were I even thought about abandoning the book but I didn’t I kept on reading and I’m glad I did because I really enjoyed it. All in all, I rate this book 3 ½ stars.

I was really let down by this book, i had very high expectations, since it was a reccomendation from "Forever..." Judy Blume.

I was upset because, nothing really happened until the end, but what did happened was not expected, which in some cases is good, but i felt like the author wanted to much into the book.

    Sex Drugs and Stealing.

The title was very misleading, I was expecting some more romantic scenes and they only said "sticky fingers" once, and it was about her friend.

The only good thing was the end, i dont want to give it away, but it was very eye opening, and really made me think.
