    Gracie C. McKeever (c) February 2009

Tyne Jensen is a single Chicago journalist who has been plagued with nightmares of blood and violence, nightmares where she is both the star and the victim. For the last several weeks, a good sleep has alluded her and she's beginning to wonder if she is losing her mind.

David Carvelli is a successful architect and partner in a firm and has been having nightmares of his own, nightmares in which he is in love with a beautiful, faceless black woman who comes to harm. The questions that plagues him is whether or not he is responsible for harming this black woman and who this black woman is.

When Tyne and David meet at Tyne's younger sister's wedding, it sets into motion a chain of events that lead the couple inexorably closer to their destiny of violence and death that is tied to the murder of a black school teacher from 19th century New York.

This was a very good story with interesting historical facts presented in an entertaining, dramatic and realistic way.

The paranormal elements are seamlessly woven into the plot of the story and make for a wonderful suspensful romance along with the highly-compatible couple in David and Tyne, and the engaging subplot characters in David's psychic mother and lesbian friend and Tyne's sisters and would-be suitor Lem, driving the story.

If you can get past the back and forth action of two different time periods, you will enjoy this very unique story. It's very compelling.
