Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God

by Jonathan Edwards

Though first, delivered 250 years ago, Edwards's most memorable sermon is no less needed today. Far more than a depicition of the punishments of hell, it is a call to personal salvation through Christ and spiritual revival in our time. (read review)

Jonathan Edwards was moved to preach a damning sermon at a gatered congregation. He had not planned to deliver this message.
The power of the Holy Spirit moved in a force not witnessed in many years.

I think every one should read this book by this brilliant man. It will make you want to drop to your knees in repentance and praise.

Timeless; this sermon ought to be read often by every believer.

Compare this method of calling men to repentance with those of the modern day tradition - and you will find your mind shocked, stunned, and shaken.

This is the sermon that brought hundreds to their knees - not out of mere salesmanship - but out of the compelling power of the Holy Spirit.
