I'm still not sure about all of his arguments. Some are solid, some are a little thin. He does a lot of what I call "using a word in its own definition" i.e. examining the bible for historical accuracy using other parts of the bible, or going to theologists for their thoughts on a matter.
Neither am I crazy about the chapter, "Isn't there some other way?"
My beef with his attitude and most of that of fundamental Christianity is that belief and love for Jesus' isn't enough - you aren't allowed to think that Buddha, Krishna, and any other avatar that ever existed has anything worthwhile to say. It's very "my way or the highway."
Yet most apologetics are quite good and helpful and I'd rather have them than not. But because many of our perceptions are inherently atheistic the mind's grasp of linear "proof" as we want it is never going to satisfy like experiential, subjective, non-linear evidence.”

That being the case, this book might be less usefull than it was 25 yrs ago, thru no fault of Mr.McDowell. Still a great tool in the toolbox. ”

It gets a little intellectual but it makes very good points that I hadn't really thought of. Fairly simple point, but one you probably won't think of until you read the book.”
