Bonhoffer was faced with the horror that Hitler could be the antichrist and had to choose how to thus respond. He eventually decided to throw off his conscientious pacifism idealism and face evil, partaking in the plot to assasinate "Mein Fuhrer." After being thrown into a concentration camp he again had to face his faith in the midst of horror and suffering, growing from it, and, in the end dying a Christ-like sacrifical death.
