Like most German Christian theology, even this short text can feel like a mountain. Plus the writing style is very redundant. Start a chapter by reading only the first sentence of every paragraph and then read the chapter. That was helpful. Be sure to read a little about what was going on in Germany at the time he wrote this. The historical background is critical for getting a feel of the importance of his writings.
