Macbeth is the shortest of the Great Tragedies, and there is something in its brevity, in its air of hurtling irresistably toward catastrophe, that adds immeasurably to its greatness. Crime, retribution, the kingdom, the world: in fact the entire universe, in Macbeth, spirals out of control with unstoppable force. On the face of it, all is very simple. I like the play; but I like it so much more performed than I ever could just simply reading it. I still liked reading it just nowhere near as much as I enjoyed seeing it performed, but I guess you could say that for all plays.

Well, that reminds me of my school days. I remember I read it when I was in Class Seven. Its such a great play with a lot of interesting acts, beautifully written by William. He has put all the spices in the world into this play yet its so meaningful and balanced. The character of Lady Macbeth is the most important one which teaches us that ambitions should have limits. les chapeaux d'à M. Shakespeare

Shakespeare's classic tragedy play. Unforgettable characters Macbeth the cowardice turned tyrant. Lady Macbeth ambitious, ruthless the most fascinating figure in this play. The witches and their eccentric prophecies. Unique writing style which remains with you a long time. A must read!!
