I really enjoyed this book. The purpose of the book is "so you will comprehend what liberty cost, and what it is worth." A beautiful and poetic overview of the history of liberty from the signing of the Magna Carta in 1215 to the settling of the pilgrims in Plymouth in the early 1600's. I found this book's wording very entertaining when read aloud. Originally published in 1879, the wording is a bit old English, but not overwhelming by any means. I was blown away by the prices that have been paid throughout history for liberty.. Every American should read this book.
