Simply the most useful and comprehensive Collected Edition available - controversial at time of first publication, however. (My comment applies to the Wells and Taylor edition for OUP, despite the occassional Shelfari malfunction).

I love Shakespeare and cherish most his plays Macbeth and Hamlet as well as some of the sonnets. I read this book of the complete works one summer from beginning to end. Probably not the best way to enjoy Shakespeare.

I have read Shakespeare many times throughout my life, depending on where I am on my own personal journey, depends what I get out of it.

An excellent book and resource for the literary minded individual. Some of my favorites are Romeo and Juliet, Much Ado about Nothing, the Taming of the Shrew, and MacBeth.

I had to read some 20 plays and about 70 sonnets for my college Shakespeare class. Difficult, but well worth the effort!!
