.. How much experience a man can have.. how much he can repent... how much pain he can suffer... I wll say there are no boundaries and if there are then they constantly being redefined and re pushed... Shantaram is a book about rain, color, smiles, comforting eyes, trapped pain in hearts, repents, loss, friend, fight and love.
Shantaram is an projection of India. Though I belong to India, but i loved to view my country from authors perspective. Atlast its a beautiful book.

This almost 1,000 page tomb (600 pages of which were lost and rewritten again from a jail cell) is like seeing the most beautiful flower, being with the most incredible partner, or having the biggest belly laugh you've ever had -all putting you in such a state of joy it makes you cry. Roberts eye for disarming detail is truly second to none. I want to read it again and again.

So far this book is terrible- I hate the narrator and I am not sure I will finish it. Very unusual for me to say this about a book. It is a whopping 900 odd pages.. I am going to struggle
