This book, sans Lynley, shows Havers on her own & spotlights her own demons. Racism also plays a huge role in this book, which I appreciate George for highlighting in Britain.”

Yes | No“One of the great aims of literature right now is to avoid racist endings, happy or otherwise. But Sgt. Havers is totally believable. Her guilt trips apropos to the DCI's spartan personal habits are just so hilarious and human.”
