Summary: This is a non-fictional book with facts about how people lived in Ancient Egypt, mummies, and other cool facts about that time period and place. It is interactive book with flaps and ties and other unique book features that make kids just want to get into it!
Reason I Chose the Book: I chose this book because it has unique features and innovative ways to present information to students. My mentor teacher had it in her classroom, and one day when I was looking through it, multiple students came up to me and asked me what it was and said that they wanted to read it. It’s creative and unique style makes kids want to touch it and interact with it, and it make them learn as they do.
Use in the Classroom: This is a book that I would keep in my classroom library. When we were learning about Egypt, I would introduce it to the class and show them some of it’s cool features and facts and encourage them to interact with it on their own time. Throughout the unit, as we learn about different parts of the lifestyle and culture, we could refer back to the book and see what information it has about that particular topic. We would be able to use it as a fun reference book as a class, and the kids would still be interested in looking at it later because they can interact with it, as they didn’t necessarily get to while I was showing it to the class. It shows them that reading is really fun, and that you can gain really cool information from books in a different way.

I don't really like Egypt so I didn't really like this.

This is the second book I read from the Ology series. This book had a much better story line stating that it was the journal of a long lost relative and main charater wanted to publish her aunt's works. Still a ton of visuals for this book. Not to be missed if you like the series and a little fiction.

I loved this book... it gave it a personal tweak to it by being set up like a scrap book. I enjoyed every page.

I enjoyed this book, one because I love ancient Egypt, and two because of the way it's designed. Like a scrap book. It follows the author's "Aunt"'s story. It's fiction technically, but it teaches a lot abouyt Ancient Egypt. I recommend to anyone who likes a good story and ancient Egypt.

A great producation of the "ologies" series. It is one of the more interactive of the books. It is modeled as a Victorian woman's journal of her time visiting Egypt. The plot involves the supression of secret treasure by an unknown organization with the insinuation of murder at the end. This may be unsuitable for young children, but is great fun for adults.
