another book good beginning to a series, but this series got even better as it went along! The suspense in the first book or two almost killed me, the whole series was really enjoyable!

What a relief to get out of the depressing, grim, yucky Yuushan Vong series and the creepy Swarm novels!

I love star wars books because I love the characters - Han and Leia, Luke and Mara and their children. Plus Chewie, of course.

This book details the beginning of Jacen's walk down the dark path. It all starts when Jacen Solo (Han and Leia's Son) and Ben Skywalker (Luke's son) are investigating an illegal missile factory on Adumar and barely escape with their lives. In conclusion, it is the beginning of a walk down the dark path.

The first in the series. We see Jacen's realtioship with Ben and how Jacen begins to turn. The way Jacen's transformation was written was very well done. It was action from page one.

When I got this book i was just going to read it to see if the books are any good. WOW! This is the first in a series of Legacy of The Force books and its a gripper. I loved the book and i could never put it down. I'm in the middle of the second one currently and it has gotten really boring. The second book is not nearly as good as this one. Great book! If you like star wars...Definately READ THIS BOOK!

Being a fanatic of the Star Wars movies, I decided to experiment with reading. This was my first Star Wars novel (other than the 'canon' movie-turned-novel books eg. Empire Strikes Back, which is by far my favorite)...

And I was totally IMPRESSED! This distant 'sequel' which features new characters (eg. Jacen Solo, son of Han and Leia) did not let me down at all. It's something new, yet it just so BELONGS to the Star Wars universe. I actually felt like I was watching a whole new Star Wars movie - Aaron Allston has beautifully described the action scenes - the Jedi tactics, lightsaber duels, the most AMAZING dogfights (my favorite scenes) - as well as the dramatic emotional / psychological / political conflicts that really touched me, like I was there INSIDE the story, the movie...

Yes, it really felt like a movie to me... a holodrama where you are actually INSIDE the story witnessing and experiencing the events

Old characters, favorites like Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Leia Organa stay true to their characters, wiser through aging and experience. New characters like Jacen Solo and Ben Skywalker shed new light upon this ever-expanding realm of the Star Wars epic.

As to the storyline itself, it starts off as a simple, typical Star Wars mission, then unravels the drama and darkness and dynamic changes surrounding Jacen Solo (the main protagonist, I presume), hidden revelations... and (my favorite, for I have always been intrigued by the Dark Side) a new perspective, a new way of looking at the Sith...

Read it and you will know what I mean.

I love this book. Can't wait to read the other prequels and sequels.

The cons... well, if you're not a Star Wars fan you might find some loose ends here and there, for this novel is very deep-seated into the Star Wars realm. I admit you need to at least have some knowledge on the Star Wars canon epic to grasp an understanding of what's going on here, how things work etc etc - and I assure you, you WILL appreciate the novel like it was any other Star Wars movie.

It SHOULD be made a movie. Somebody get George Lucas to set this series into production right away!
