“An engrossing history of the CIA from its inception up through the end of the Cold War, told through the eyes of fictional characters, each with considerable depth and exceedingly well-written. While they start out together they eventually develop branching storylines as the novel progresses, but each character is so well-defined that you never forget who is who and you never get bored. It's about the fastest I've ever gone though a 900 page book. ”

At first I didn't think I was going to make it through the one thousand something pages, but as I read along I got dragged into the story. And the story is a winner. Jammed with excitement and packed with detail it takes you through the cold war and the strategic war between the KGB and the CIA. It is a very interesting read that gives good insight into the worlds two most powerful spy organizations.”
