“I liked this book. I was glad that Sara dumped Dave and that her and Tobey got together. I wasn't sure why him not being a virgin mattered so much to her but they got over that and had sex themselves. Tobey turned himself around and started doing his homework and applying to colleges. It sounds like Sara and Tobey are going to continue to see each other while theyre at college, and I am glad about that. I don't think I would read this book again but I would read other books by this author. ”Courtney J wrote this review Tuesday, April 2, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“My opinion on this sort of vacillated, but at the end of the day I have to go with the two stars.
At first, I thought, oh my God, this is going to be one of the worst books I ever read. It's just so... urgh. The "nerd" who's hated by the "popular kids" and happens to have two boys wanting to date her? And everyone's beautiful and skinny and "reads"?
Plus, in addition to the cliches, it was just kind of boring. Not much happened.
But then, as I went along, I started to be feel almost charmed by it. Yeah, it's pretty standard, but it's also somewhat realistic. Nothing about it was melodramatic. And in a way, I can appreciate that.
Then, though, I got to the part where Sara is angry at Tobey for something that like, nobody in their right mind (at least in my humble opinion) would be so angry about, and I was just like, um, no. So yeah. A two star book. Not the worst thing I've ever read, but I wouldn't read it again. ”
“When It Happens starts with Sara pining over Dave, the cute guy who sat next to her at the junior assembly. But when he doesn't call all summer she starts freaking out. School starts and Dave and Sara start dating. While all this is going on Tobey is pining for Sara. Tobey will do anything for her. Meanwhile, Dave is pressuring Sara for sex. Will it all work out? If you like romance books you will like this book. ”Rachel H wrote this review Wednesday, June 19, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“When true love happens, you just know. Sara wants two things before senior year is over. The first college of her choice, and Dave. Dave was the boy she liked that she met before summer. He has her number but never got in touch with her. She feels like he forgot about her until school starts again...Toby wants two things in life. Toby wants to be a succesful musician, and have Sara. Sara loves Dave, Toby loves Sara, and Dave could care less about who he dates. Sara thought Dave cared until she realized all he started to do was pressure her into things she didn't want to do. When she breaks up with him Toby thinks he's got a shot. Sara and Toby start dating, and doing OTHER things, and their relationship is going really well. Then she realizes he lied to her about his past, that might affect their future. She won't call him but he tries to call her. They make up in the end and Sara got in to the college of her choice as well as Toby got his grades up and was accepted in to college too! Read about their climb to the top, and the struggle of getting their. ”shaelyn37 wrote this review Friday, March 1, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
