“I read this book last year, this is a beautiful story about a young woman having a dream of becoming a gesiha (well not at first)...no matter what the odds were. Some readers may say why was a story about a prostitute so good?--because it was her dream--no one else's. First of all, she didn't set off to be a geisha--she was sold. But nevertheless, she was determined to be the best geisha-- she over came obstacles of haters that were in her way---to me that's what you call a true survivor/over-comer.
Also, Japan beautiful scenery was captivating and vividly described. I can read it over and over....and the movie was wonderful also.”
