Thought it was amazing - the story of an African American boy discovering that his mother was white and of Orthodox Jewish descent. Since meeting both the the author and his mother - I am still in love with this book. Great read.”

An amazing story of Ruth’s life with an abusive father; a meek, disabled mother, and the prejudice she endured from both blacks and whites, and how she embraced the African-American culture.
